I need some new music. Somebody post their workout playlist or something. Hipsterness not required. The only exposure I really get to new music nowadays is from bands playing on late night talk shows.

Stuff I've been playing on repeat lately:

They were on Fallon and I liked how their intro reminded me of the Beverley Hills Cop theme.

Saw this performance on SNL. Love that electric guitar solo towards the end. Makes me want to dance, by which I mean plant my feet and bop my head vigorously.

Colbert theme.

What other song(s) does this sound like?

Make a station or two on pandora. It will introduce you to a LOT of new music that suits your tastes.

Not sure if you'd like my workout playlist. It's chock full of RATM, Tool, Korn, Slipknot, etc......

Here's a few of my favs that may be under the radar for you (categories is where i'd put the music):

The Velvet Teen - Out of the Fierce Parade (indie rock)
Zero 7 - Simple Things (trip hop)
Joe Bonamassa - Live From the Royal Albert Hall (rock / blues)
Arctic Monkeys - AM (alternative)
Bon Iver - Bon Iver (folk)
Miles Davis - The Complete Bitches Brew (jazz)
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular (alternative)
Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork (rock)
Rival Sons - Great Western Valkyrie (rock)
Tame Impala - Currents (phych rock)
Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears - Scandalous (funk / rock)
Beck - Morning Phase (alternative)
Allman Brothers - At the Fillmore East (southern rock)
Outkast - ATLiens (rap)

What kind of music do you enjoy?

It does. Was trying to offer a decent range of stuff since I don't know what Tsung likes / doesn't like.

Honestly, anything with a good hook and tempo. Not much of a lyrics guy...so I guess pop music? I used to listen to top 40 pretty often. Some country. Like there are some Stapleton songs I really like, and then there are others that are too bluegrass/country. And of course Sunny 99.1 stuff.

Only thing I don't really listen to is metal, or as I like to call it, murder indoctrination sounds. Not much of a hip-hop guy either, but if it makes it to a top 40 station, sure maybe.

I would recommend using Pandora and just creating some stations around bands / groups you like and note the stuff you hear that you like that you haven't heard before.

I've learned about a good deal of artists I hadn't heard before from Pandora. And it's free.

Happy hunting.
