Not only will a Clinton presidency result in eight years of somebody like Ted Cruz...
What? Is he saying Hillary is somebody like Ted Cruz, or that her presidency would be followed by Ted Cruz (or an analogue)? Either way, its (a) ridiculous and (b) unsubstantiated.

Bernie and his supporters have created this perception among progressives that Hillary is essentially a Reagan acolyte, but it doesn't pass the smell test. Compared to Bernie, Hillary is conservative. Compared to Ted Cruz, Hillary is Lenin. More importantly, compared to Donald Trump, she's not insane.

The formation of a third political party is a near certainty if Clinton is nominated...
Sure, it's a near certainty to the extent that anyone can "form" a political party. Bernie could form a political party - could have, in fact, for all of these years he's been running for Senate as an independent, but he didn't make any effort to build an infrastructure to push his supposedly revolutionary ideas.

We endured 8 years of GWB because Ralph Nader wouldn't quit attacking Al Gore on Gore's left flank; the cost was 2 wars and a massive erosion of civil rights. At some point, progressives have to realize they're hurting their own cause by pulling support away from electable candidates. Bernie put up a good fight, but the numbers are simply not there for him. Take his message to the convention, make Hillary add some more progressive elements to her platform, but they need to stop with the talk of starting third parties.

I don't think Trump is insane so much as he is stupid.

It's beyond me how you can get a MBA from UPenn without some comprehension of basic economics. The guy went on record saying that he'd print money to pay off national debt.

I just googled it. Was mistaken.

Trump has an undergraduate degree from UPenn. It's still a bachelors in Economics from an Ivy. You'd expect there to be some basic knowledge retention in the field of study.

If The West Wing and House of Cards has taught me anything, it's that the VP is the 14th most important person in the White House.

Yes, it is insanely difficult to get into an Ivy League school, and I highly doubt they would let someone in preferentially just because his dad was super loaded. Nope, that would never happen.

Honestly though, I don't think what Trump is saying is really that bad, a lot of it is just people cherry picking the most outrageous soundbites... but his followers IRL are the worst people and his followers online are 4chan who are the worst people on the internet. So something about Donald Trump appeals to the worst in humanity and I don't like that.

Bernie doesn't deliver anything to the ticket that Hillary won't already get in the general.

The smart decision is to move to center, not "unite the party". Of course, this goes out the window in the unlikely event that Sanders runs as a 3rd party.

If there is a 3rd party candidate, it would be much more likely to come from the right.
