fuck.
in all likelihood the republicans will be heading towards a contested convention. if kasich stays in, which it looks like he will, trump wont get enough delegates to be nominated.

also, unless things change dramatically trump fairs really poorly vs hillary in national polls. in the 10 biggest news polls, trump loses to hillary in 9 out of 10 of them. his only win is in USA today and only by 2 points. hillary wins every other polls and some by significant margins.

that's fair analysis. I'm just feeling less and less like people will vote for Hillary as things continue and Trump somehow continues to pick up steam.

it's a clusterfuck to be sure.

I called Hillary from the start, partially because I doubt Bernie or Trump has the steam or the strength to actually win a General.

Bernie's target demo doesn't vote, and the GOP is such a fucking mess I wouldn't be surprised if Mitt Romney tries to get nominated on the floor of the RNC.

Actually, it looks like if Kasich and Cruz both stay in, that could hand Trump the nomination without having a contested convention, which would be sad because a floor fight among Republicans would be hilarious. Most Republican primaries are winner-take-all (or nearly all), and Trump has a solid 40-45% support. When two others split the remaining 55-60%, Trump ends up winning all or nearly all of the delegates for that state.

Trump v Hilary, then Hilary gets indicted for that personal email scrap, and Trump ends up winning. RIP America.

Oh you called Hillary from the start? Real bold prediction there, Nostradamus.

maybe i'm older and care more, or maybe i didn't have time to pay attention in the interesting years past, or maybe just trump, but this year's nomination process has been very exciting to follow, just as compelling as any playoff race. maybe politics being more like sports would help americans engage more.

Obama upsetting Hillary in 2008 is pretty much a 15th seed knocking off a 2. Then he knocked out McCain after they put Palin on ticket. There's a movie with Julianne Moore as Palin which pretty much said they knew nothing about Palin and she turned out to be a stone cold idiot.

The Gore/Florida fiasco was great in 2000, but that happened after the election.

There was Perot and Nader if you want off brand niggas. Perot getting 18% of the popular vote as an independent was surprising, and probably something Trump learned from. You don't have to be a politician to run of president, but you need to run with one of the 2 big parties.

The elections with an incumbent president with a challenger with little chance of winning are uninteresting. The others have been great so far. I would love to see Trump win the nomination so the fiasco continues for 6 more month.

Two things that have bugged me this cycle:

1) I seem to remember McCain's age being constantly brought up back in 2008, and how it was a virtual certainty he would die in office. No mentions this go around, and 3 of the 4 frontrunners are around the same age McCain was then. I know Dems constantly feel like they have to dispel Benghazi and socialism, but it's really the same crap.

2) The idea of Bernie or Bust.
