Any shop owners/TOs out there run one of these before and if so what was the entry fee etc. I got a couple and I'm thinking of letting the local store buy em and hold tournaments to help bring more people into their shop. So, if anyone has some helpful info it would be greatly appreciated.

Well I guess I could start off by asking what everyone has paid or would pay to play in one and what format was or would be best for an event like this.

Game Chest used to have a Saturday mox tournament for $5. If there were less than 20 people, you just got the cash instead of the mox.

The best thing to do is make it a 20 dollar entry fee and play constructed. I remember 7 years ago I played a legacy event at Pat's Games and it was legacy and then the top 8 played draft. And it was for a Mox Ruby

Ok so this is a pretty random idea, that just might work for smaller tournaments that wanted a top 8 draft - charge just the top 8 10 dollars for making top 8. Assuming the prize is worth it, I can't see players being deterred from an event if its 10 dollars entry and 10 more dollars for a draft if they top 8...
